Carly Urban
Hello! I am Professor of Economics at Montana State University, a research fellow at the Institute for Labor Studies (IZA), a fellow at the TIAA Institute, and a faculty affilate at the Center for Financial Security at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. My research focuses broadly on how public policies influence individual behavior. In addition to conducting research, I love talking to policymakers and practitioners about research findings. I am particularly interested in 4 larger umbrellas of questions:
What types of financial education improve financial behaviors and for whom?
How do social safety net policies affect household behaviors, and how do policies interact?
How do vulnerable households respond to policies related to housing and mortgages?
How do political landscapes affect policy and economic outcomes?
